Here are the topics men and women are most interested in.
Men
* sex

* sports

Women

Start thinking like a HUMOR HOUND and develop a nose for humor
related to the above topics.  Keep a notebook with you and jot

How to Add ZIP to Your Talks

Humorous Quotes to Brighten Your Day,
Enlighten Your Life and Add Zip to your Talks

by Mike Moore

As many of you know, I speak about the practical uses of humour in our lives and in our relationships at home, at work, and at play. 95% of all the requests I receive to speak have to do with this subject.

George Bernard Shaw once said that if you find something funny search it for hidden truth.  Here are few pearls of wisdom packaged in humour. Enjoy and use them in your presentations if suitable.
  1. You wouldn't worry what people thought about you if you only knew how seldom they did.
  2. To expect life to treat you fairly because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge you because you're a vegetarian.
  3. Worry is like a rocking chair; it will give you something to do, but won't get you anywhere.
  4. Pain and suffering are a lot like gas....they too shall pass.
  5. Always borrow money from a pessimist. They don't expect to be paid back.
  6. Anyone who says that swimming is good for the figure has never taken a real good look at a whale.
  7. A bore is always "ME" deep in conversation.
  8. Some people think their lives are full, when really they're just cluttered.
  9. If at first you don't succeed, try not to be amazed.
  10. A leader without a sense of humour is like a grass cutter at a cemetery. You have a lot of people under you paying absolutely no attention.

Live Better....Laugh More

What to Do When an Audience Member Disagrees

What to Do When an Audience Member Disagrees
With You During Your Speech

                                                               By Mike Moore

Some people enjoy drawing attention to themselves by trying to
trip you up on a fact or statistic during your presentation. A
few will find something you say threatening to their secure
view of the universe and want you to know that “ You are dead
wrong!!” When this happens it is important to remember that
you won’t be able to please everyone in your audience and you
shouldn’t try.   I personally feel that if I don’t say
something that afflicts the comfortable I’m not really doing
my job effectively.

Here is how you minimize the possibility of an verbal attack
coming from a member of your audience who is hell bent to show
you the error of your ways.  And it works extremely well most
of the time. Yes, there are people who only hear what they
want to hear and are just waiting for a chance to make
themselves look cleaver by making you look foolish.

Here is what I say before I begin...
“ I’m here to share with you my thoughts and opinions on
(_________________). If I say something that rings true for
you file it away for further consideration. If  you disagree
with one of my ideas or opinions that’s fine. Just dismiss it
as the musing of a misguided soul. You might just want to take
what rings true and disregard the rest.  I am here to invite
you to consider what I have to say. You must decide whether
you will consume it whole or spit some of it out.”

This usually works for me but once in awhile you get someone
who is so attached to their perception of reality that there
is no room for an opposing opinion. Any disagreement is viewed
as a total violation of all they whole sacred. This is sad,
but true.

I believe that the search for truth is cumulative. When my
perception of truth is added to yours then we come closer to
THE truth. No one has a monopoly on truth or wisdom or insight.
If someone challenges you while you’re giving your talk and
they begin to interfere with the flow of the presentation just
say in a very calm voice, “ I would love to give more time to
your ideas but I only have an hour to give my speech. If you
see me at coffee break I will introduce you to the meeting
planners and perhaps you can talk to them about hiring you to
present at next year’s conference.”  This always solves the
problem.

In  conclusion I want to say that this situation arises very
seldom, but it does arise. When it does I hope these ideas are
as  helpful to you as they are to me.

The Path to Profitable Public Speaking

What follows are excerpts form my popular manual " Speaking for Profit and Pleasure"

Every month I receive numerous emails from people all over
North America asking how to get into the business of speaking
for money. To respond to these many inquiries I produced this
popular audio speaking series. Here are seven timely tips
from my audio speaking system, to get you started on the path
to speaking for big money.

1. If you want to become a successful, well paid speaker you
must become well known. Promotion and publicity are vital to
your success.

2. Leave your promotional footprints wherever you go so people
find you easily.

3. After each speech ask those who hired you for a written
testimonial. Use these testimonials, or parts of them, in your
advertising and publicity. I have never had people refuse to
provide a testimonial for me. Sometimes I have had to remind
them, but no one has ever refused.

4.Access free publicity whenever possible. Write and submit
press releases frequently. Writers and editors are always
looking for new story material and your press release could
result in an interview and a story being written about you,
your work and/or your publications.

5. Some new speakers say that it is difficult to establish a
reputation as a speaker when many businesses are reluctant to
hire unknowns to in-service their employees. I solved this
problem by offering to speak free of charge ...with certain
conditions attached of course.

6. To get speaking engagements you must present yourself to
people looking for speakers. Every community has an abundance
of organizations, associations and service groups in need of
speakers for their conferences, banquets and in-service
sessions. Make yourself known to them.

7. Promote yourself and your products within each speech, but
in just the right dosage. Too much self promotion and you can
turn your audience against you. Too little and they might
ignore your products altogether.

Summary... 1. Decide on a topic
2. Prepare a dynamite 45 minute speech on your
chosen topic
3. Make sure it is laced with humor and stories
4. Know it so well that if I woke you and and said
start in at the 10 minute mark you could.
5. Bring it to the local market then the world.
6. Advertise and promote like crazy.
7. Let word of mouth take over.

This is just a sample of what you will learn in my Special Report 121 Secrets to Profitable Speaking "

Also included in the course are the following topics:
